Default For FSU Fans

Thought you would like to see this report from the cousin of Jordan Prestwood, the 6'6" 250lb TE from Plant city. The cousin is a die hard Gator, but he has high praise...

I've been busy the last couple of days but I felt like you guys might like to know how a Junior Day at Florida State is.

First off, let me say that I have disliked FSU with a passion my entire life so everything good I am about to say, deep down hurts me as a Gator but I wouldn't mind if Jordan went there.

When we arrived, Jordan was weighed in and measured. Then Coach Dawsey, who is a hell of a nice guy and not to bad of player in his day, was on him like white on rice. We went up to his office and hung out for about an hour talking about all different types of things. Up there we got to talk to coach Trickett, who might be one of the funniest people on the planet. He is a real intense person whose reputation preceedes him. While we were in the coaches offices, the tight end coach and office coordinator, Coach Cooley, spent alot of time talking with Jordan about how they would liket to use him in their offense. We also been Terrell Buckley which I thought was pretty cool.

We than went and spent some time with Jimbo Fisher. Coach Fisher is a class act. He is straight forward and one hell of a nice guy. I think FSU will be a lot better off now that he is in control. One thing that stood out to me about all the coaches is that they didn't negative recruit or say a single bad word about any other program while we there.

After speaking, with Fisher we went back down stairs and they formally began the Junior Day by introducing all the coaches. Some of them spoke about the program. Next was a tour of the facilties. This is where Florida and FSU are truly different. There is no comparison between the two. After seeing UF's, FSU's seemed like a top tier Highschool program. Our weight room absolutely dominates theirs. Our locker room is nicer and bigger. The one cool thing about their locker room though is the retired player Jersey's in cased in class. I thought that was pretty neat.

One thing that is better about their program is the team meeting room. They have a 3D film room. They put on a highlight film that was totally in 3D. It was pretty cool.

Another thing I liked was they brought in a player panel and all the coaches left the room and we were able to ask the players any questions we wanted too. It was neat to get a good insight to the prorgram that way. The panel was Ponder, Manuel, Luc, Lamar Miller, Kendell Smith.

If it seems like I am writing more about FSU than UF it is beacuse we spent the entire day at FSU and only about 3 hours at UF. We had to leave early the day of UF's Junior Day.

All in all, I think the coaches for any top tier school are going to be great recruiters. That is what they get paid to do. The things that will seperate programs is the comfort level of the recruit with the other platers, academics and NFL production.

As long as everything stays cool on the board, I will due on an update on every visit that I go on with Jordan. On a side note, USCw and Louisvile also offered him yesterday.

As a Nole, I loved Bobby, but am really stoked about Fisher. He was a damn fine coach at LSU and you can see his stamp all over the quarterback postion and FSU's offense in general.
